Project-specific research access

Need one or two Cedar collections for a defined project?

Use source-linked Cedar Press data for a defined paper, story, thesis or public-interest project without rebuilding the underlying collection yourself. Researchers, journalists, students, nonprofits and public-interest organizations may request access to one or two collections when a full subscription does not fit the project.

Good fit

A researcher studying federal lobbying needs the Advocacy collection for one article and wants the underlying records and source trail.

A reporter needs Deals and Cedar NEED to trace an acquisition and the enterprise structure behind it.

Not a fit

A research program wants six Cedar collections for open-ended analysis.

Lumecon maintains the source trail, entity relationships and releases behind these records so users can spend their time on analysis rather than reconstructing the same public systems.

Access is project-specific and discretionary. Raw collections may not be redistributed. Projects requiring broad, repeated, exploratory or commercial access should use Cedar Press+ or Cedar Grove.

  1. A person reads it. Requests go to the research desk, not to a queue.
  2. A fit gets the named collections, for the named project. Nothing wider.
  3. A miss gets an answer anyway: which route fits, if one does.
